The Combatant Helmet by Ronin is the only helmet currently on the market that was designed specifically for Padded weapons fighting. The Kendo inspired face cage is made of an extremely strong polycarbonate and is angled to create deflections.
The spaces between the bars on the face cage are intentionally spaced close enough together to prevent padded weapons from penetrating to the eyes, while allowing for excellent vision. Because it is not a shield there is no echo from a loud Kiai, making breathing easy.
Ear protection is accomplished by preventing the sudden inflow of air which occurs when a hole is hit, by removing the hole. Then on the inside of the helmet the ear rests in a specifically designed cradle. This cradle protects the ear from shock and diverts the shock away from the ear, insuring a pleasant training session.
The latest version of the Combatant helmet has been upgraded by ventilating the top flap.
